John S. Morse, PE performs product design and testing. Past experience includes helping design a CO monitor (patent number 6,433,696), an engine monitor and the Angle-Rite Ladder Level, and testing spectra fabric for hurricane shutters. Dr. Morse has also tested ladders and ladder accessories.
Dr. Morse performs structural engineering. He has extensive experience in curtainwalls and has consulted numerous times on roof trusses and roofing systems.

Louisville Ladder Recalls Extension Ladders Due to Fall Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: “Louisville/Davidson” and “Michigan” Brand Fiberglass Extension Ladders

Units: About 25,000

Manufacturer: Louisville Ladder Inc., of Louisville, Ky.

Hazard: The extension or “fly” section can fail to lock, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The recalled ladders are Type I, IA, or II extension ladders with fiberglass rails and “D” shaped aluminum rungs.
